WELCOME TO MY E-PORTFOLIO
This website is an encompassing experience of my first semester in the Minor in Writing as a Gateway student (at the University of Michigan). Keep reading, and you'll find a little bit about me, why I write, three of my "experiments" from class (a sound essay, a book trailer, and a book website), and some other stuff I've made -- like some of my 5-minute writings from each day in class.
Feel free to contact me at aaulepp@umich.edu if you find something interesting. Either way, enjoy!

Alexis Aulepp
My name is Alexis Aulepp, and I’m a junior, a Communication Studies major, a book-lover, a night owl, a people pleaser, a “mom friend,” and a writer. Some of my interests include poetry, photography, dad jokes, my faith, good food, cute dogs, and random acts of kindness.

About Me & This Website
Take a minute to learn a bit about me as a person and writer, as well as some useful info about what this website is and what it contains.
Why I Write
An exploration of the statement "Why I Write" -- including my own relationship with writing and becoming a writer. Additionally, on this page you can find my "Writer's Manifesto," which is partially featured in the photo above.
Origin Piece
For my Origin Piece, I have selected a novel I have started for middle-school-aged readers titled "It's Pronounced Pegasus." You can learn more about how my Origin Piece is important to my Experiments by visiting the "Experiments" page.
Experiment 1: Sound Essay
Think of a sound essay as a story/experience told through purely auditory information. In my sound essay, "Morning Blues," I outline the not-so-perfect morning of our protagonist's (Logan's) first day of high school.

Experiment 2: Book Trailer
A book trailer is like a movie trailer, but for a book! This page contains my entire writeup about my book trailer that I made for class. If you would like to view the book trailer, please click this link, or just visit the page about it and view it in context!
Experiment 3: Book Website
A book website is the home for all things book-related! It acts as the second-face of the book, its online presence, and a marketing tool for current and future readers. Read more about it by clicking above, or skip ahead to view it here.
Final Project & Reflection
For my Final Project, I "fully realized" (aka, I "finished") my Book Website. Check out my Final Project and my Reflection on the entire Experiment-making process by clicking the picture above.
In-Class Writings
Each day in class, we did one (or two) 5-minute free writing sessions using a choice of three words/phrases as a launching point. Visit this page to view a selection of my top twelve entries!
Extra Content
On this page, you can find extra content like a link to the Minor in Writing blog (where I have posted several times), a link to some of my creative works, and some other cool stuff I've made.
