I will hold my own hand,

walk myself home at night,

pay the bills, open the doors,

tell myself how much I’m loved,

 

wake myself at sunrise

with a reminder and a grin,

climb from my own lonely bed,

 

greet the morning,

welcome the night,

and find some comfort in

my reflection, my breathing,

and the presence of my shadow.
